报告人简介：

Juan Loor earned a BS degree from the University of California, Davis, and MS and PhD degrees from Virginia Tech. He was post-doctoral researcher at INRA (France) and the University of Illinois, Urbana, before joining the faculty at Illinois in 2005. He is currently Professor of Animal Sciences and Nutritional Sciences. Loor has been actively engaged in global collaborations encompassing research and training of more than 70 foreign scientists and graduate students. His work with scientists in China, Italy, New Zealand, and Brazil has resulted in more than 150 peer-reviewed articles. Areas of focus include the linkages among nutritional management, health, and production efficiency in dairy ruminants. Since 2005, Loor has authored more than 500 peer-reviewed articles receiving over 15,000 citations. He currently has earned an h-index of 63. His research is supported by the USDA-AFRI, private industry, and international programs. His teaching efforts include undergraduate and graduate courses in animal and ruminant nutrition, and a capstone graduate course within the Division of Nutritional Sciences on the regulation of macronutrient metabolism. A number of his former graduate students and post-docs are currently in academic positions in the USA or their home countries.
