主要科研成果:
近5年发表SCI收录研究论文36篇,被引频次总计237次。可支配科研经费239.7万美元。主要从事胚胎工程应用技术研究和动物基因编辑技术应用研究。
建立了基于OPU技术的良种肉牛胚胎的生产以及移植技术的快速扩繁体系,10年时间将300余头优质韩牛扩繁出10000余头优质种牛。为韩国肉牛和奶牛的改良做出了巨大的贡献。被韩国政府授予科学技术最高奖项---总统奖。
建了利用基因编辑技术创制动物模型团队。生产出了世界首例发出红色荧光的转基因猫;创制了带有人类艾滋病(HIV)受体的模型猫、无过敏猫等动物模型;同时,积极推进濒临灭绝猫科动物(豹、猫、东北虎等)的保存和已灭绝动物的复原工作。
